HULK

Maybe it's just me but... I don't like the scene transitions of the movie. Damn too confusing! CG animation is great though. I'd like to answer Trixy's question on why did his cut-off jeans always turn purple no matter what he wore before he transforms into the Hulk --- because green and purple are part of the harmonious secondary colors of the color wheel. They must have thought purple would always look good with green. Hehehe!

REAL IT IS !!!

Ronaldo's second strike (in the 72nd minute) AND FUNNY 'DO clinched the title.

Two goals from Ronaldo and one from Roberto Carlos gave Real Madrid its 29th Spanish league title on Sunday. The 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao was the win Real needed to stay two points clear of Real Sociedad, who had to settle for second spot despite a win against Atletico Madrid.

I'm now dancing Balki Bartokomous' Dance of Joy.

TGIF

Thank God It's Friday !!! It has been hell of a week at work. Actually, it still is today but I'm looking forward to unwinding tomorrow and Sunday. Me and Jolana are planning to put up a picket fence around the house that we bought in Tierra Nevada so we'll be going there tomorrow to see and plan the whole thing. I'm kinda a do-it-yourself guy so we'll see how that goes.

I hope to start on a new painting too. Already got the watercolor paper stretched. Just have to sketch in the subject in mind.

"TECHNOLOGICALLY CHALLENGED"

Here's a collection of stupid computer tricks by Rod Shelley. I'm sure he had quite a blast compiling them! I especially like ordering online and inserting your credit cards in the floppy drive. Duh!

SUPERMAN SYNDROME

Every since I came out unscathed from a head-on collision of my Dodge Stratus and a streaking Chevrolet truck(back in '99 when I was in Massachusetts), I had always thought that I have Superman's powers. Hehe! Hey, gimme a break! It's not everyday that one can still be alive after totalling his car on an onrushing truck. I know it was really stupid and to think that I had a passenger with me then. Thank God we didn't even get a scratch! But don't ask about the car. Being dragged behind a towtruck was my last glimpse of it. And besides, the wailing sirens of the police, the 911 ambulance and firetrucks was more than enough to make my memory hazy.

Ok, enough reminiscin'.

When I came back here and driving for over a year now, I still have that Superman feeling about me. I'm not reckless or anything but I don't usually budge to those undisciplined drivers na gustong sumingit. I don't care if I get hit as long as I'm on the right lane. Bangga na kung bangga. But lately, I'm getting more cautious. It's not fear I think. It's more like feeling responsible. Responsible to my wife and responsible to my unborn kids. Wife... kids... I like the sound of those.

ICE BREAKER

A few months ago, I got this overseas call on my cellphone while I was driving. The guy on the other line was looking for a Mr. Rene Enriquez and hearing him say that, I was sure that he's one of my friends abroad playing a trick on me. It took me awhile to realize what he was a recruiter from Ireland and was trying to tell me that his client wants to interview me in 3 weeks time and that I should learn as much as I can about Germany.

For sure that conversation was information overload for me while I was driving along Cavite's Aguinaldo Highway because I totally forgot all about it. After a month or so, I got this email from that same guy in Ireland telling me to prepare because his client has already set a phone interview sked with me. This guy was serious after all! And his client too! I later learned that this "big" client was Infineon - one of the top semiconductor companies in the world! Lost no time in researching about the company and Germany.

Come interview-time, all the technical details were discussed and tossed around. I know from past phone interviews that this first contact is an employer's way of determining whethere they want to pursue you or not. So, I gave it my best shot - technically. But what broke the ice though was football ! Yes, football - the world's most popular spectator sport in which Germany is one of the mightly nations playing it. It was great to be talking loosely with those top guys about the game.

And guess what - five months after that interview, they're now inviting me to visit their company in Dresden, Germany. I don't know if I'm already hired or not but who cares?! If all things work out, I'm definitely going just to have the experience of visiting a football crazy nation. One more football crazy fan/player wouldn't hurt. Hehehe!

Dresden: The city in the Elbe valley lies nestled in the undulating countryside between vineyards and wooded hills.

UGLY ANYONE?

There is nothing ugly; I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, - light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful.

NICE SURPRISE

Got a nice surprise waiting for me at work last Friday. There on my table was an authentic replica of Real Madrid's centennial jersey!!! Wohooo!! Japanese friend, Takanori Ichikawa, gave me that as a wedding gift. Hehehe! Unfortunately, I'll be the only one to enjoy it --- not my wife. Unless, I wear it during... hmmm... practice! Hehehe!

MY PRECIOUSSSSS...

In a Gollum-like voice, I can finally say... "At last, I have you, my precioussssssss...." . Hahaha! That of course refers to the wedding ring I'm wearing now. But more importantly, it refers to my precious and beautiful wife.

Hired Fol Rana to cover the event and he shot a whole lot of wonderful pictures. The problem now is choosing 80 supposedly best shots to be blown up and placed in the leather album... from 1700+ pictures. Whatda... Man oh man... there are least a thousand best shots in there!

I've taken some of the shots I like and uploaded them into webshots. Here's the link: http://community.webshots.com/user/artwalk03. Enjoy!

By the way, the wedding was at Caleruega last beautiful 8th of May. The weather was just gorgeous and we thank the High heavens for that. :-)
