WHERE COWS AND PINES HANG AROUND My apologies for not posting the reference pic of this painting I'm doing now. Here it is:
If you notice, I took the liberty of removing the fifth cow. His position wasn't contributing any good to the composition that I'm trying to achieve. Then I simplified the busy background of pine trees so as not to distract the viewer from my subjects. Although there are four cows, the way they're huddled together unites them as one subject matter.
What made me paint this one was the way the sun defined the subject's contours and shapes --- including their wrinkles! And besides I'd like to show watercolor's power of transparency. :-)
